JENKINTOWN BUILDING SERVICES has a long standing tradition of giving back to the community that has supported us since 1933.

  • Charitable Projects

  • For many years, JENKINTOWN has given Gifts Of Service, gifts in kind of free cleaning services to local non-profit, arts and cultural organizations. We also helped support the dynamic growth of #GIVINGTUESDAYPHL to make it one of the largest programs in the country.
  • You may have also seen our technicians dressed as Spiderman at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, "fighting grime and crime at the same time" to the amazement of patients, parents and staff alike as well as Santa Claus and Hanukkah Harry on the Avenue of The Arts and Connelly House.
  • Our many efforts have included:
    • Hearts for the Arts-Gifts in Kind program-developed to support contractor contributions to arts and cultural institutions in the city.
    • Habitat for Humanity-Liaison for contractor support with new housing projects with Habitat for Humanity.
    • Assisted City Council and BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) in drafting a practical Facade Inspection Ordinance. Assisted BOMA and Center City District in passing an ordinance banning the sale of glass graffiti products.
    • Collaborated with and worked on Anti Blight Initiatives and the Anti-Graffiti Network to combat the graffiti on glass.
    • Assisted Center City District and Philadelphia Department of Commerce with the vision and coordinated effort for revitalization of Chestnut St, between Broad and 12th St.
    • Developed and manage several programs, offering "Gifts of Service", wherein businesses offer their services, as gifts in kind, to area non-profit, community service organizations.
    • Developed a very "green" window system that will allow buildings to retrofit an interior dual-pane window to a single pane window on the outside, great energy savings, LEED value and practical benefits.
    • Pro Bono Consulting-to contractors, architects, etc., on the design and implementation of safety and access systems for buildings such as the Kimmel Center, Liberty Place, and the Cira Center, other hi-rise buildings in the region.
